The goal of this project is to develop educational hydrogen fuel cell-based training stand, replicating the advanced technology of the Toyota Mirai vehicle. This demonstrational stand is designed for engineering training institutions, universities, and research centers aiming to introduce students to alternative, environmentally friendly transportation technologies.
In a world where automotive technology is evolving rapidly, staying ahead means embracing innovation in the classroom. This new trainer reflects a strong commitment to future-proof education, preparing students to meet the demands of a cleaner, smarter mobility era.
The prototype will be based on cutting-edge technologies used in the Toyota Mirai, including:
A fuel cell system (polymer electrolyte membrane) where an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen generates electrical energy.
Three high-pressure hydrogen tanks that store compressed hydrogen.
An electric motor and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery.
Electronic control units simulating the electrical architecture of a real vehicle.
Safe, education-adapted components and measurement points for hands-on technical training.
Each component is selected and integrated to provide a clear understanding of hydrogen-powered vehicle systems in a controlled and safe training environment.
The result of this project will be an innovative educational platform for demonstrating the working principles of hydrogen-powered vehicles. It will support the transition to climate-neutral transportation systems, strengthen research and development capabilities, foster collaboration between academia and industry, and open new opportunities for international technology transfer and commercialization.
